PooPourri

Yeah, it's probably what you think, or maybe it's not. Either way, this is an epic commercial. Well shot and had me actually laugh out loud. Enjoy!

Embrace The Chaos

What started as a doodle in a notebook turned into a t-shirt concept for an internal work assignment. I thought many people, despite the industry, could relate... especially those in creative positions. And the payoff on the back is to take those difficult situations and turn them into opportunities.

Aftershock 2013

Some kind of withdrawal. It's been happening for far too long. What's been missing in my life? Oh, yes. METAL. Well, I made sure I took that back into my own hands and it started with this past weekend with Aftershock 2013. Sacramento, CA housed this 2-day festival that was just what I needed. Soo many good bands like Megadeth, A Day To Remember, All That Remains, A7X, Five Finger Death Punch and Korn (who killed it). Then there was the weather, the company (new and old), the guitar solos and concert firsts. It was exactly the injection I've been craving.

Check out some of the shots from my Instagram feed (@SFAdMan) and stay tuned for the next round of metal mayhem. I mean we've got Slayer, GWAR, Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage coming up just around the corner.

It's about the get heavy \m/

Got A Fetish For Soccer?

Well in case you do, the San Francisco Spikes Soccer Club is hosting their first open tournament in just a couple weeks! And it happens to fall across a very authentic San Francisco-style weekend, the fetish-orientated Folsom Street Fair. I mean, it makes sense right? The largely gay male soccer club hosting a tournament over the vibrant fair weekend in a city that some call, "Gay Mecca". Either way, I digress.

Aside from promoting the event that will host players from San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Chicago, and New York for what I'm sure will be a weekend full of both soccer-related and non-soccer related activities < insert obvious 'wink wink' here >, I wanted to share some work I've done for it. Very appreciative that the club asked me to assist with branding. We developed a look and feel that incorporates both soccer and the festival theme. Below is some of the work as well as the tourney T-shirts that have officially hit production!

A sincere thanks to the SF Spikes for asking me to do this. I hope everyone has a blast at the tournament, the fair and at all the weekend festivities. It's going to be epic to say the least.

Mother-Daughter Mashup

Wow. Sometimes the Facebook newsfeed brings you gems beyond the non sense. This was definitely one of those cases. A mother and daughter combination. Professional illustrator (Mica Hendricks), and professional 4-year old making art, together. And what a wonderful collaboration. Below are some of the pieces, pulled from the post on This Is Colossal. I can only hope to one day collaborate with my own son or daughter on something like this. Truly wonderful. And she's got 16 of the prints up on Society6 in case you're interested.

Face Off - Genetic Portraits

This morning a coworker shared a link to this fantastic photo series (Thanks Hannah). Seamless composition of portraits – mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, cousins, siblings and twins (oh my!). It's a very intriguing look into genetics. Check the link out for more examples and to figure out the relationship for the ones selected below.

The Innovation of Loneliness

Felt a little off when I decided to post this to my network on Facebook, let alone slap it up on my blog here. None the less, I think this is a very insightful video. It's real, it's relevant, and aside from all that it's well produced and well written. Worth spreading and really taking a moment to actually digest and think about the message, and the reality it lays forth.
