It's Not Complicated

Out of BBDO Atlanta comes these great spots for AT&T. The series comes with some fantastic moments and has impressive casting. The combination of the mellow dramatic and somewhat offbeat gentlemen asking the questions to the zany antics and responses the kids give and elaborate on. It's wonderful, simple and get's the message across effectively in my opinion ("It's Not Complicated").

Slapped some of them below for you to check out, including an article link from CREATIVITY here, where the editors explain a bit more about capturing that 'magic'.

Turnstyle

This is the kind of shop I would love to work at. Having a particular passion for package design, it would be at the top of my list to end up at a place like this. And a change of scenery, moving to Seattle wouldn't hurt either. Nice, small, creative shop. Makes for a happy designer.

Check out some of the cool work they've done and some office shots of this mid-sized shop from  up north. I'm in love with the Brand Scents air fresheners. Genius.

Trooper

How did I not know this existed?! Well, either way  it's not out just yet so I'm not too far behind knowing about this. For all you Iron Maiden fans, myself included, I'm stoked to see this and can't wait to try it.

Like a Jenga Lamp

Pulled from DesignMlik, what an awesome puzzle-like lamp. "Babele is a playful, self-produced lamp from brand new design studio based in Ivrea, Italy called MID (manifattura italiana design)." Whichever way you decide to place the pieces leads to a new and unique concept for the lamp. Love the user-focused design aspect of this very simple, yet highly creative and interactive piece. well done.

Honoring The CODE

Here's a look at the marketing I recently completed for my partner's upcoming event in San Francisco. With this new event came a chance to give it it's own identity. The name was selected due to the different codes used mostly amongst the male population of the gay community and their sub cultures–like the leather culture. These codes were a simple means of communication without having a verbal dialogue. Incorporated relevant imagery to represent that mood and set the tone for something we're very excited about. Plus I always like sharing my work, so there you have it.

Whimsical Card Game

Who doesn't love an awesomely designed and fun deck of cards? As I did my daily look-over on The Dieline, I found these "Whimsical" cards. I love the simple, yet complex drawings and the overall packaging. Even the geometric style circle cutouts for each of the suits. win.

Sarah Kay

I posted this to Facebook immediately following my viewing. I then realized I had to post it here. I needed it within my blog about creativity and inspiration. The things I see, the world around me, and the things that light sparks. This is one of those, that while it is part poetry, part talk on spoken word, it's all inspiration.

What Is Art?

Just like the imprint article says, I'll let the 1920's poster speak for itself...

Ladies First

That's the slogan from the new gentlemen's brand, The Barbers (finest gentlemen's care). Found on the Dieline, this combines my moustache craving (started long before it became the thing it is now), and fun packaging/branding. I like the logo, the untied bow-tie, a little sophistication, and the packaging overall. It's simple with personality.
