Why It's Still Fun To Work In Advertising

It really is all about the work... but I agree; No more open floor plans and more hookers.

Who Loves Print Ads?

I love print ads. And after seeing this posted in someone's newsfeed I checked it out and felt compelled to share. Some good stuff in here. Simple and sweet. And some you might recognize.

An Unnecessary Woman

I met Rabih Alameddine while a part of the SF Spikes Soccer Club and he's just released his new book, An Unnecessary Woman which was featured on The Daily Beast today. I've downloaded this sucker to my Kindle and can't wait to dive in on my morning commute. However, I wanted to share what I love most about a book I've yet to read, the cover. I'm in love with it and can't wait to nab a signed copy when I see Rabih next. A huge congrats my friend!

And if you want to get your hands on a copy yourself, here's an Amazon link to it. What are you waiting for, go, now. Download and enjoy.

Sketch Heads

It's creative and he doesn't need them to sign a release to be in his photos. Rad. And what a good way to kill time on the train.

Elephant Pencil Mural

"Elementary school art teacher Adonna Khare created an gigantic pencil mural which won the ArtPrize 2012 and the $200,000 prize."

This thing is wicked. It's awesome. It's elephants. Of course I love it. And if you don't, we can't be friends.

Drugs Are Bad, Yet Creative

The short of it is artist Bryan Lewis Saunders created self portraits of himself while on different drugs, and while I don't even know what all of the drugs he took were, some of the results are pretty awesome. And really, what an interesting way to document the effects or perception while you're on these. Check them all out at the credit link.

Casino's Law

2 minutes total. Part heavy metal video, part attorney's personal journey. However it adds up, it's not like any law commercial I've seen. Kudos on his purchase of the whole first local ad spot to release this to the world during the SuperB*wl.

And there's the epic quote from the AdWeek write up that sums it all up, "If you weren't bowled over by any of the Super Bowl commercials last night, well, you weren't watching in Savannah, Ga. The folks there, as Tenacious D would say, had their asses blown out – thanks to this insane ad from Jamie Casino."

The Game That Can't Be Mentioned, 2014

And another round of SuperB**l ads flood through. Head over to AdWeek to watch them all and actually give them a grade (smart move) but no recap here. There's enough of those out there. But does anyone really watch the commercials you put out? Really? Exactly what Adobe gets at with this spot. Nice move Adobe. Nice move.
